Welcome to Mrs. Galligan's 3rd Grade!
Home Page
Look at your child's agenda book each day to make sure they completed it.
The papers in your child's daily folder should "match" assignments written in their agenda. If it does and their work is done, please sign the agenda.
Review your child's assignments for the day... is it their best work? Did they write complete sentences using grammar rules they know? If not, ask them to fix their work before turning it in the following day.
Please remind your child to turn in their work each day to earn full credit on their assignments.
If your child has their homework done, tell them to work on addition / subtraction facts, multiplication / division facts, read, or practice skills in Study Island (if you have internet access). Directions for Study Island are below...
1. Go to studyisland.com
2. Enter 'user name' and 'password' information. It's the same one your child uses at school. If your child forgets please send a note or an email and I will get the information for you.
3. Now your child can work in many different subjects and grade levels.
4. Your child must finish all 2nd grade ELA & Math common core lessons before going into 3rd grade. (Tabs along the top of the menu)
5. Select a lesson and a new window will appear. Students working in 3rd grade may use "Games" mode. 2nd grade or below must use test mode.
6. If your child is asked to do a "Pretest" - they must work on another subject. All tests must be done at school.
7. If you notice your child is having a hard time with a concept... they need to do the 'lesson' portion of the activity. (Many like to skip this part)
8. In math, your child may use the 'scratchpad' to help them figure out the answer to a question.
