My name is Sheila Dunleavy. I completed my undergraduate degree at Siena Heights College ( now University) earning a Bachelor's Degree in English and Spanish. My graduate degree in teaching students with Learning Disabilities and Emotional Impairments comes from Saginaw Valley University. I am a member of the National Council for Exceptional Children. My students know that I was born with Cerebral Palsy and that my crutches help me to get around, usually pretty well. Before coming to Peck I worked as a alternative high school English teacher, a migrant pre-school teacher and a substitute teacher for most subjects/grade levels. I consider teaching to be a vocation,so constantly striving to learn more is important to me.
When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with friends and family. I love to read and am constantly on the lookout for the best chocolate chip cookie recipe. One of my goals for this year is to learn more about digital photography.
