ELA-This week we learned how to quote from the text when describing plot and making inferences.  We also worked on writing sentences with strong verbs and adjectives that were both specific and descriptive.  
Social Studies-This week we  learned what the word federalism means; ask your student.  We learned that the federal government and the state government each have certain powers and that they also share some powers.  
Science-Science this week consisted of  learning about  and the relationships between animals and plants in an African Lakes and Rivers Ecosystem.  We are discovering how the animals live there depend upon one another .  We are learning about food sources, energy source, and balance in ecosystems.  
Math w/Mrs. Prouse-Students this week worked on  place value and patterns and place value of whole numbers.

October 15-Half day, students dismissed at 11:30, P/T conferences ; 12-3 & 4-7
October 16-Half day, students dismissed at 11:30
